The
SoundMaster Stix
305
is a very rare analogue drum
machine from the early eighties. You get both the
cheesy, mellow sound of the psychedelic 70s, plus the acid hats of the
80s !
This WaveShaper sample pack is a quite unique
occasion to meet this very little known and lovely
beat box. Your tracks will get a great retro sound,
whether you are an electronic funk producer, and
acid freak or a true analogue sound lover.
The
Stix305
was recorded using some tube preamp and compressor
and a vintage eq on top of it to keep the analogue
vibe on the full recording chain.
As the Stix305
features few sounds, I recorded them at various
compression, gain and eq settings and made several
takes of each sound in order to get some subtle
variations that your round-robin soft sampler will
love for sure !
There are also a dozen of loops plus a more punchy
kit, processed using some strong tube distortion.
As always with
WaveShaper sample packs, you can decide to use the
free kit or buy the “pro” one : The "pro"
pack uses 24bit/48khz, stereo Wav files.
The free pack is made out of standard
44,1khz-16bit mono
Wav files and features less samples (09
one-shot samples in the free pack, 54 one shot
samples + 13 loops in the Pro pack).
The
MR-10 is a
compact analogue drum machine from the early
80's made by Yamaha. It features 5 pads that you
can hit to trigger the sounds and some cheesy
tango & waltz presets.
This tiny grey box has a rather characteristic
sound, with a deep kick (somewhat reminiscent of
the infamous 909) and a quite unique snare. The
tone
knob lets you shape the sound of the kit, and it
is very efficient on the toms and snare. It
sounds 200% analogue, but not like the usual
suspects, so this carefully recorded WaveShaper
pack will fit in any of your music productions,
from electro pop to doom exotica !
As always, great care has been taken to keep the
original sound alive and kicking with a high
headroom, but some subtle tube coloring and
compression assures you to make this kit sound
unique.
The
pro kit
gathers 5 tone variations from each of the 7
individual sounds, in stereo, 24bit, 48khz wav
files. It costs only 1,40$.
The free kit
lets you play with one full sample kit (7
sounds, mono, 16bit/44.1khz wav files).
Made
by the same toy company who created a
famous doll, the Synsonics
is a black analogue drum machine with 4 big pads to hit, so
you can program your own beats or play them on the fly.
The
sound is very electronic (white noise power !), and there is a "tone"
knob to shape the sounds. It can somewhat remind the Simmons drum
synths from that era, in a more primitive form. It is a lovely piece
of gear which doesn't sound at all like the others (think
"Barbie meets PanSonic" to get a better idea).
This
drumsample pack features 90
one shot samples recorded
with care, and
should find a nice place in your music production, whatever genre it
is, as long as you enjoy deep and pure electronic sounds.
The
pro
pack features 90
one-shot
samples recorded
with care. All samples are in
WAV, 24bit 48khz stereo format. It costs only 2,90$.
The
free pack contains 15 one-shot sounds in 16bit, 44,1khz mono.
